Run.
Explore.
Repeat.
At our core, we are on a mission to transform the phrase “I Hate Running” into “I Love Exploring.” We achieve this by fostering a positive and encouraging environment that celebrates progress, individuality, and the beauty of every runner's unique story.
We know that running is hard! Our aim is to turn the struggle of learning to run into a heartfelt appreciation for the joy of outdoor exploration.
With unwavering dedication, we strive to transform "Ugh, Running!" into "Ah, Bliss!" as we guide reluctant runners to become passionate outdoor enthusiasts.
And with that said… Welcome to Turner Fitness Coaching!

Hey there! I'm Coach Colin, and I've been exactly where you are. I started as a beginner at a young age, and have had to start over again and again in the years since.
I’ve loved running and hated it. I’ve gotten injured and quit running at least 10 times, but always started again.
When I joined the track team in 9th grade I was the slowest, most awkward 14 year-old you ever saw. I couldn’t do more than 2-3 pushups, had no running shoes, and clomped my way down the track behind everyone.
But my incredible coach and supportive teammates kept me coming back. I began to see slow, incremental progress month after month, year after year.
From Beginner to National Championships
By age 17, I was one of a team of four runners to earn a place at the Nike National Indoor Championships in the 4x800m relay. It was an incredible experience that fueled my passion for running.
I ran throughout high school and college, where I had support, guidance and encouragement.
But after college, as life unfolded, I found myself navigating the challenges of adulthood, marriage, and starting a family. Running took a backseat, and I was only able to squeeze in a few runs per month for mental health and to enjoy a beautiful day.
Rediscovering the Passion: The Boston Marathon Spark
Then, everything changed when I witnessed the electrifying atmosphere of the Boston Marathon. It ignited a fire within me, and I knew I had to get back into competitive running shape. However, in my eagerness, I made the classic mistake of pushing too hard, too soon.
Injuries began to plague me—calf strains, hip issues, ankle sprains, knee pain, you name it. It was a frustrating cycle of hope and setback that lasted for two years. It was then that I realized I needed to start from scratch, throw away my previous knowledge, and become a beginner again.
Knowledge Is Power: Seeking Expert Guidance and Building a Strong Foundation
I embarked on a relentless pursuit of knowledge, seeking out experts who could guide me on my journey. I consulted bodyworkers, chiropractors who worked with professional athletes, physical therapists, and even professional running coaches. I left no stone unturned, diving into anatomy and physiology books and analyzing every aspect of my running form through gait analysis.
The result? I learned how to run continuously without injury once again. I completed six half marathons, and the pinnacle of my journey was running the 2021 Boston Marathon for a charity youth running program. It was an honor to give back and inspire young runners.
Redefining Running: Joy, Exploration, and Connection with Nature
Now, I want to share everything I've learned with you. That's why I founded Turner Fitness Coaching in 2020. Armed with certifications as a personal trainer and running coach, I'm here to break down complex running concepts into simple terms. I've developed a comprehensive curriculum that covers over 30 different topics, carefully designed to build your running skills and knowledge in a logical order.
But let me tell you, my focus isn't just on pushing through pain and suffering. That's not the way to fall in love with running. I firmly believe in starting slow, learning proper techniques, and gradually building your fitness. I've seen countless people quit within the first month because they thought running had to be grueling. But it doesn't have to be that way!
My mission goes beyond simply getting you to run. I want to help you fall in love with being outdoors, to discover the beauty and serenity that nature has to offer. Running becomes a way to explore your surroundings, to connect with the world around you. It's about the freedom and joy of moving your body in sync with the rhythm of nature.
